Liposuction

Liposuction:  Also know as body sculpting is used to remove isolated areas of fat deposits. The best candidates are patients who are close to their desired body weights but have one or two areas of fat deposit that they can not get rid of with diet and exercise. In our practice we employ traditional liposuction as well as ultrasonic assisted liposuction (UAL). In UAL, a probe that emits ultrasonic waves is first used to emulsify the fat. This allows removal of more fat with less blood loss. Liposuction can be performed under local anesthesia with intravenous sedation if working on a small area or under general anesthesia for larger areas.
